This week's Top Ten Tuesday topic: Top 10 Books On My Summer TBR! I'm not sure I can pick only ten! But I did my best to whittle it down to just that.

I went rigid because another picture came to mind - that of the redheaded corpse lying in the courthouse yard with a gash across his throat. The memory sickened me as always, but now it had a new meaning: there had been a mojo bag about the neck, connecting the corpse with the VanZeldts. Did the lieutenant's friend Jorgenson, who disappeared as Lieutenant Lynd slept, have red hair?
The Mirk and Midnight Hour by Jane Nickerson (pg. 176)
I recently read The Mirk And Midnight Hour and totally loved it, such a fantastic book and I can't wait to her what you make of it.

I'm really enjoying it so far. :)
DeleteSuch a vivid description! I love it.
ReplyDeleteAnd I think I'm going to add more books to my TBR this summer. :)
Jane Nickerson has a very vivid, rich writing style. I love it.
DeleteI hadn't read that one yet, but it sounds great.
ReplyDeleteHere's My Teaser
It's awesome, Laura! If you like fairy tale/ballad retellings, you will like it. It's a retelling of "Tam Lin," but it also has dashes of "Cinderella."
DeleteAlways Emily looks really good, just added it to my Goodreads shelf.

I liked her other novel - NOBODY'S SECRET - so I'm sure ALWAYS EMILY will be good. :)
DeleteNice list! I've heard good things about I Hunt Killers, too. I actually managed to snag an autographed copy at BookCon. My brother is reading it now and says it's majorly dragging in the middle. We'll see.
ReplyDeleteI've heard that the sequel to I HUNT KILLERS is even better, so I'm willing to sit through the dragging parts. :)
DeleteNice list, love how you set yours out. I really need to hurry up and start the Grisha series, especially since I own the first two. I like the look of Dorothy Must Die but refuse to buy. Always Emily looks interesting like the look of that one. I hope you find the time to get to them :)
ReplyDeleteRiffle.com is really good for lists like these. I'm starting Book #3 in THE GRISHA trilogy next. I can't wait to start DOROTHY MUST DIE!
