Hedge's Reading Recap: March 2016

Image
Time to recap all the books I read this month! All in all, it was a pretty "tame" month. I had a lot going, so I didn't read as much as usual. But the books I did read were quite good!

Hedgehog Life: 03.21.16 - 03.27.16

Happy Easter! Has it been a week since I've done one of these updates? Quite honestly, I don't even remember last week, so it's entirely possible.
So things haven't exactly been busy; they've just been a blur. My life is hitting yet another changing point - details of which I'm not quite ready to share. Just know that I've made the big decision to buy my own car by the end of the year, and that decision was made for a particular reason that I want to keep under wraps until later (the suspense will hopefully not kill you).
Other than that, I have been crazy busy with writing, which is why I haven't read all that much in the past week - well, the entire month, to be honest. The Freelance Chronicles has been taking up all of my free time (as have a few animes, such as Tokyo Ghoul and Fruits Basket). I try to post a new story every Sunday and I'm kind of starting to catch up, so I need to turn out the stories as fast as I can (without sacrificing quali…

Waiting on Wednesday: The Raven King

Image
The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater (The Raven Cycle #4) Publication Date: April 26, 2016
From Goodreads:
The fourth and final installment in the spellbinding series from the irrepressible, #1 New York Times bestselling author Maggie Stiefvater.
All her life, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love's death. She doesn't believe in true love and never thought this would be a problem, but as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she's not so sure anymore.
In a starred review for Blue Lily, Lily Blue, Kirkus Reviews declared: "Expect this truly one-of-a-kind series to come to a thundering close."
Why I'm Excited - Um. . . .Well. . . .Gosh I don't know - maybe because it's the last book in The Raven Cycle!!!!!! Which actually makes me super sad. But I want to know how it ends! I've been in suspense ever since - well, Book One, to be honest!

Hello, all! Wow, another week gone and I'm actually posting something on this blog! Now I just need to do reviews. . . .heheheheh. . . . yeah. . . .
So on that subject: The Reading Hedgehog is sort of undergoing a transformation - albeit a slow one. You might've heard a while back that a good friend has loaned me her video recorder indefinitely. My beautiful GoPro has sort of bitten the dust. Ever since my trip to New York in 2015, it has been MASSIVELY finicky about taking video until it just plain freezes up if I try and record anything longer than 5 seconds. And now I've broken the charging chord, so I can't even take pictures with it because it's battery is dead. Roar!
Anyway, I have a video recorder now - which means I can get back to shooting video!!!! As soon as I buy an SD card for it. . . .Which I am going to. And when I do, that's when you'll see the "transformation" on The Reading Hedgehog. I don't know why, but I've recently g…

Spring is almost here! Which means my allergies are going CRAZY! But I don't mind, because it also means that nice weather is coming and I can finally discard my winter clothes! FINALLY! This girl needs some sunlight!!
You know, I feel like I should, once again, apologize for my absence, but I'm not going to, because I'll just be doing it again in a few weeks. By now, you guys are probably used to it. So! What has this erratic blogger been up to this week?? Well. . . .
A friend and I went down to Salem, Oregon for the weekend to visit another friend. It was a blast. No, I didn't get pictures because my camera is official dead, my phone was also dead (and I forgot my charger), and I still need to get an SD card for the video recorder one of my friends had loaned me indefinitely. But trust me - it was a lot of fun. On our first night, we ate at an authentic Spanish restaurant that was so many levels of delicious I don't even know where to begin. The atmosphere was a…
