Top Ten Tuesday #64 + Teaser Tuesday #25

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

This week's topic is easy: Top 10 Books I Want to Reread. Actually, it was hard just choosing 10. But I did it.

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Should Be Reading

- Grab the book you're currently reading.
- Flip to a random page!
- Share 2 teaser sentences from that page.

Emil didn't look up from where he was drawing aimlessly on the ground with a stick. "No," he said, hearing the sulk in his own voice. He gestured to the pallets and people surrounding him. "Esmer, we spent all yesterday looking. I've been sitting here most of the morning. Most people just walk by without even looking at us. It's like we don't exist. And the ones who are looking are usually trying to find someone with a specific skill. The merchants in the Wind Market aren't hiring, and to everyone else, I'm just an uneducated goatherd." Empire of Shadows by Miriam Forster (pg. 209)

  1. I must that apart from Seraphina (that I NEED to read) and The Scorpio Races all the books in your top ten are new to me, off to GoodReads to look them up I go as there are a couple there that have peaked my interest through their covers alone!

    1. I'm known for having read a lot of obscure books. :) But they're good!

  2. I still need to read Dealing with Dragons, and I don't know that I've heard of Piratica. Is it any good?

    1. I remember PIRATICA being rather odd - it's alternate history - but fun. It's not a serious book.

  5. How the Hangman Lost his Heart was awesome! So funny, though it shouldn't have been, and sweet too.

    1. You've read it!! :) Yes, it was hilarious and sweet all at once. I really, really wish some BBC writer would turn it into a mini series.

Lovely cover art for Empire of Shadows and I enjoyed the excerpt. Now I need to see what this book is about:)

    1. I can't wait for you read THE SCORPIO RACES, Laura! It's probably my favorite Stiefvater novel. EMPIRE OF SHADOWS is pretty good so far - better than the first book, actually.
