Hedgehog Life: November 2014

I can't believe November is almost over! Before we know it, it's going to be CHRISTMAS! Am I excited about that? Yes and no. Christmas has always been my most favorite holiday; I mean, there aren't many holidays that take up an entire month! But Christmas also equals super duper busy time at work, and I'm tired enough the way it is from the last two months. So, yeah, it's a double-edged sword.

Anyway, November has been going pretty well. I haven't been getting as much reading done as I wanted because I have been in an oddly crafty mood. I've returned to making jewelry (which I haven't done in ages), and I've been busy trying to plan out my closet renovation. I own too many clothes, but I can't justify getting rid of any of it because I wear it all on a regular basis. And yes, I have already gotten rid of/re-purposed all of the stuff that is plain too worn out. I am very good about re-purposing stuff. I will not throw out lace, ribbon, or anything that can be cut up and fashioned into. . . .something.

What I have read so far in November has been amazingly good. Especially Blue Lily, Lily Blue. Just wow. I cannot wait for Book #4 in this series.

In other news. . . .Well, I guess that is my news. The next Books to Movies will be, of course, Mockingjay Part 1, whenever I get around to seeing it in theaters and writing my review (hopefully soon)! I've been busy with the typical stuff: work, dance classes (did I mention I'm doing swing dance now?), Bible studies, hanging out with Hedgie and my sister in my fleeting spare time, and more work. Exciting, right?

On book buying for the month: I've been really good! There aren't many new releases I want, and because I sort of, kind of did an expensive clothes shopping trip (I needed some new dance dresses, okay?), so I'm saving my Powell's order for December and January. That's reasonable, right? That's responsible money managing. . . . .Never mind the dresses I bought (we're trying to forget about that).

Hope you guys are having a lovely November, and that you also have a marvelous Thanksgiving! Can't wait to kick off the Christmas season with a medieval-style Yuletide Feast (that's going to be awesome!!). Until then, enjoy the rest of the month!

  1. Ooh a medieval Yuletide feast! Awesomeness! This is definitely a fun and busy time of year to be sure. I need to clean out my closet too. Dangerous territory that haha :P

    1. I know! I've wanted to go to one for a long time, and the local theater group is finally putting one on!! I've begun the process of cleaning my closet and it's only made me realize what I don't have. I have too many clothes the way it is!! There's no end. . . . ;)

    2. Isn't it rediculous how you can have so many clothes and you still don't have what you need? I've come to the conclusion to only buy in maybe two color schemes (like greens and browns and then blues and grays) which is what I wear anyway, so at least I don't have random articles waiting around to find things to go with them :P

    3. So true. And the problem with me is I wear all of my clothes on a regular basis, so I can't justify getting rid of any of it unless it's plain falling to pieces. Just realized the other day that out of all the dresses I have, I don't have a red one. And next to cobalt-blue and "Loki-green," bright red is my signature color.

  2. It sounds like we're all getting a little crafty with the holidays coming up. Maybe it's a good way to deal with the stress? ;) Enjoy the rest of November and I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving!

    1. I'm thinking it's stressed related. Too stressed to read, so I have to keep my hands busy while binge-watching TV shows. Have a happy Thanksgiving! :)
