Top Ten Tuesday #78 + Teaser Tuesday #39

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

Top 10 Character I'd Like To Check In With. In other words, the series/book is over and I would like to see how their lives are going now. Admittedly, not the easiest Top Ten Tuesday topic ever, but we'll give it a shot.

  1. Katniss from The Hunger Games. I think we all would like to know how Katniss and Peeta are faring after all the stuff that went down in this trilogy. Actually, I would like to know how the entire country is doing. Rebellion isn't a small step.
  2. Katherine from The Dark Unwinding. How you doing there, Katherine? After braving nasty relatives, political plots, near-death experiences.
  3. Thomas from The Maze Runner. Another character who has gone through hell and back - it'd be nice to see how he's dealing with all of that trauma now that it's over.
  4. Alex from the Alex Rider series. Now there's a kid who has suffered some series trauma.
  5. Will Treaty from Ranger's Apprentice. We'll probably get a glimpse of him in the Brotherband Chronicles (unless we have already; I'm behind by two books). And we got a very clear glimpse in the 12th Ranger's Apprentice book. But I'd still like to know how he's doing.
  6. Olivia from The Cure for Dreaming. She went through some stuff and the ending didn't totally clear up what her future was going to be like. I'd like to know if she and Henry ever made up. If she's now married to him and living happily.
  7. Daphne & Sabrina Grimm from The Sisters Grimm. I hope everything is going well for them now.
  8. The Baudelaires from A Series of Unfortunate Events. I don't think I'm the only one who wants to know what the hell happened after Book #13. Especially when The Beatrice Letters indicated that the Baudelaires have seemed to have disappeared and young Beatrice is trying to find them.
  9. Murtagh from The Inheritance Cycle. The ONLY character I cared even a little bit about in this entire series.
  10. Four from the Divergent trilogy. I'll admit, I'm a little curious to know how he's doing after Book #3.

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Should Be Reading

Theron looks over my shoulder at a chatting group of maids. His eyes drift, just enough that I can tell his thoughts are on a not exactly pleasant memory, and he forces a smile to cover his tracks. "No one else sneaks around the back to get to their rooms as often as I do," he jokes, and before I can ask more, he dives into the room, leaving me to follow. 1. Ditto. I wonder if Snicket is going to write a series following little Beatrice once he's done with his current ALL THE WRONG QUESTIONS. It really seems like THE BEATRICE LETTERS set things up for a future series.

  2. I love how YA focused your list is! Many of these characters are also ones I'd like to see as adults and see how their stories changed/morphed over time.

    Great list!

    1. YA and Middle Grade are my most favorite age ranges. :) I'd love to see some of these characters as adults, too.

  3. You know, what I really hope for all of these poor traumatized characters is that they're living nice, normal, boring lives. I think they deserve it after going through so much horror.

    Happy TTT!

  4. I don't really know most of the others, but it would be cool to see how Katherine's doing. (Or I could just do the sensible thing and finally read the second book...)

    1. It's the second book that makes you want to know how she's doing now. ;)
