Top Ten Tuesday #57 + Teaser Tuesday #18

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

And we're at it again - Top Ten Tuesday! And this week's topic is: Top 10 Books I'm Not Sure I Want to Read. This is a little difficult, because most books I add to my list or buy I do want to read. So I'm going with books that I want to read, but I'm nervous about reading them.

There is something in the room with him. This much he knows, and that is why he is hiding. Shadows steal across the ceiling, boards creak and groan as the house settles down for the night, and he is hiding. The Girl from the Well by Rin Chupeco (pg. 109)

    1. And that's one of the least creepy parts of the book!

  2. Great description. Sounds like my fears as a child. My Teaser is from WHERE OR WHEN.

    1. Same here. :) I was terrified of the closet.

  3. I'm reading THE GIRL FROM THE WELL too! Okay, so, STRANGELETS was extremely strange, but I liked it. As for Sarah Dessen, YES. JUST LISTEN is probably my fourth favorite of her books, with ALONG FOR THE RIDE, THIS LULLABY, and THE TRUTH ABOUT FOREVER ahead of it. I'd definitely recommend!

    1. Isn't THE GIRL FROM THE WELL creepy?! What do you think of the narration style? I'm not sure how I feel about it myself. You've put me at ease about Sarah Dessen. :) One of my other friends who hates contemporary really liked JUST LISTEN, which is why I picked it up. So - fingers crossed! :)

  4. I have read a lot of mixed reviews on "Fire and Flood", too, and the title and cover of "Kiss of Deception" turn me off the book, as well.

    1. I like the cover for THE KISS OF DECEPTION; not the title so much. I guess we'll find out how I like it! :)

  5. Great picks! I also put John Green on my list, I enjoyed TFIOS but didn't love it. I have heard the rest of his books are very similar and that worries me. I am also nervous about Fire and Flood, have seen a lot of mixed reviews. Haha, recently reviewed The Kiss of Deception and I absolutely hated it, so I don't blame you for being nervous! Here's my TTT.

    1. I saw your highly entertaining review for THE KISS OF DECEPTION, and it hasn't lessened my nervousness. ;) Everyone I've talked to who heard why I liked TFIOS said that AN ABUNDANCE OF KATHERINES was a great second book, so I'm trusting them to be right.

  6. I'll probably read Dualed eventually (for the concept if nothing else), and I'll probably try Kiss of Deception because I'm intrigued by the narrative style. I can't say I feel much need to read any of the others.

I never read Just Listen, only This Lullaby and The Truth About Forever from Sarah Dessen. I actually enjoyed The Truth About Forever, but you're probably better off getting advice from a Dessen fan. :)

    1. Well, if you get to either of them before I do, you'll definitely have to let me know how they are.

How did you like THIS LULLABY?

    2. My sister loved it, but I wasn't a big fan.
