Top Ten Tuesday #27

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic: Top 10 2014 Debuts I'm Looking Forward To! Oh, this was a hard one, because I don't actually pay attention to what books are debuts and which ones are new works by old Authors. If a book sounds good, I pick it up. But . . . I'll do my best.

This is currently sitting on my shelf waiting to be read. I've seen a lot of very divided reviews for it, so I'm both looking forward to and dreading reading it. What if I don't like it?!

I was lucky enough to be able to read an ARC of this book last year, and I actually really liked it. So, even though I've already read it, I'm still really looking forward to its release and being able to buy a hard copy.

Okay, it's not a debut; this Author has already written a book, published in 2012. But this will be the first book of hers that I've ever read, so she's at least a new-to-me Author. And I'm really looking forward to this one! It sounds so interesting and creepy!

Oh, this looks so good! I can't wait for this one to come out, because it sounds and looks so awesome! I've been really getting into high fantasy lately - maybe because of Falling Kingdoms. Now that I'm done with Book #2, I really want something to read while I wait for Book #3 to come out.

Not my usual type of book, it does still sound interesting enough for me to look forward to reading it and finding out if it's actually any good.

I love WWII novels, and this one sounded really good. Or it could be bad - we'll see. The fact that it takes place in WWII-era Germany already gives it some bonus points. It's just such a fascinating time in history.

Arthurian legends are some of my favorites, and I love books based off of them. Especially if Merlin is a prominent character. This just sounds like it could be really good and it's been a long time since I've read an Arthurian legend-based book.

  1. Nice choices! And in answer to your question on Defy, if you don't like it: Craigslist, used bookstore, trade or gift. :)

  2. There's a lot of cool books coming out! I'm really hoping this year will be better bookwise than last year. Like you, I was a little disappointed with last years new books where as 2012 had SO MANY good ones.

  3. I also love WWII books so I just checked out the Prisoner of Night and Fog on Goodreads and it sounds pretty awesome. Thanks for the recommendation :)
